Kimball is leading a team that is researching a new approach to achieve electric vehicle charging, from empty to full, in less than ten minutes. The work is funded by the Department of Energy, award DE-EE0008449. The concept is similar to a gas station, but for electric vehicles. Other team members include:

The Faculty Research Award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in research and scholarship.  Awards are given based on the significance of the contributions of the individual in the preceding two years, as well as the long term impact of the individual’s research.
